Our Philosophy on Child Care

Learning Programs That Support Your Child's Development

Lil People Learning Center offers an interconnected learning approach with a child-centered and child-initiated program. Our programs are sensitive and supportive to the development of young children individually and in a group.

We emphasize the acceptances of all children; this includes acceptance of diversity, individual differences, and special needs. Lil People Learning Center believes in the importance of a hands-on approach to learning.

Children learn the most through play and by taking an active role in the learning process. At each class time, the children take turns sharing treasures from home, bringing snacks for the whole class, and being special helpers. Our preschoolers feel at home in their classroom.

Our curriculum is designed to support the development of children by having planned experiences that build upon what the children already know and are able to do well. It's also helpful in exploring their areas of interest. We encourage children to learn by doing, which encourages experimentation, self-control, and a positive self-image.

Colorado Shines is a quality rating and improvement system used to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early care and education programs. Colorado Shines assigns a quality rating to licensed early care and education programs, similar to rating systems for other service-related industries like hotels and restaurants.

The Denver Preschool Program's tuition credits help Denver families pay for high-quality preschool for their 4-year-olds. The amount of support a family receives depends on family size and income, the quality of the preschool chosen, and the child's level of attendance. Denver Preschool Program tuition credits are available for all Denver families - regardless of income - with a child in their last year of preschool before kindergarten.

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is focused on promoting the social emotional development and school readiness of young children from birth to age 5. CSEFEL is a national resource center funded by the Office of Head Start and Child Care Bureau for disseminating research and evidence-based practices to early childhood programs across the country.
